OUR HISTORY PROJECT - OUR HISTORY

We have been moving fast and preparing for the release of next weeks show. Cassie and I are excited to have it finally under way. In this micro-wave world of I want it now it is hard to realize how far we really have come in such a very short time.

Have you ever had an idea that literally shook you to the core? I have and let me tell you it is a life altering change that not only rocked my world but a lot of folks went with me for this ride.

Almost seven weeks ago this project was an idea. Through dedication and very hard work form a lot of people we have pulled tighter a project that launched itself into the stratosphere.

In the first five weeks we created the project, Gave it a name, Designed the Logo, letterhead and such. Became a Nonprofit Corporation was cleared by the state of GA Charities Division, put together the web-site, blogs, forums, promotional literature, interviewed and have cut three shows, developed a donation guide and came up with some very cleaver ways to support individuals, groups and businesses who support us, our mission and our vision.

We have gone from no web presence at all to being found everywhere. Every search engine has picked us up and we are right there in the top. Thanks to the top team in the business we are listed on several podcast directories including i-tunes, podcast alley, podbean and podcast pickle.

We have aired two promo pieces, cut three shows and have several more topics lined up and waiting in the wings, including something special for the 75th anniversary of "Gone With The Wind" in April.

Show ideas are coming in from all over and we want you to send us yours to. We are crossing the country to find these stories about all aspects of American History. What do you want to hear more about? We are rolling strong folks and we want you with us. Contact us or visit our website to find out how you can make a difference. Don't worry, not all of it involves money. There are things you can do in your neighborhood or at home that involves no money from you or asking anyone else. Don't get me wrong we are a 100% Nonprofit business and we will need donations, memberships, supporters and sponsors to stay alive in the long run and we will be grateful for anything you can do. However the main goal that we are striving for is "Preservation."

Where can you find us on the Web? Or, at least what I have found so far:

Come be a part of it.

Our History Project -Archeology Report 03-18-09

Hello and welcome to Our History Project where history comes to life and history becomes his story.

In this segment we will focus on U.S. archeology in the news. We are digging up, if you will, the news on what is happening around the country.
This will be a feature segment of our show and we will be hosting these points either by its own stand alone broadcast or contained within the Our History Project regularly scheduled show. Either way we will scan the country at least twice a month to give you a report from local newspapers of what is going on.

In saying that, if you have a story on archeology, in any part of the U.S. send it in. That will make sure we know about it and pass it on to our listeners.
Don’t forget the first Our History project will be released on March 28th. We will be interviewing Sue VerHoef of the Kenan Research Library at the Atlanta History Center. We will be talking to Sue and discover what the Kenan Research Library has to offer, not only to the city of Atlanta but also for the rest of the country.
Let me take this opportunity to thank you for tuning in. I hope you will find this show is not only educational but also entertaining and interactive. That’s right, we do want you to get involved we have our forum set and it is ready for you to come on in and join us for some historical conversation.

You say, “You’re not a history buff?” That’s ok too. Drop in and let us know what you think. I think I can speak for all historians and researchers on this one. We love teaching and sharing. That my friend is what history is all about, passing it along.

Our History Projects’ website is up and running and we want you there. Go to www.ourhistoryproject.com now, become a member and help us support our vision and preserve our history.
